RS485 to Ethernet DIN Rail Converter

Industrial RS485 to Ethernet Converter for DIN Rail Mounting

SKU:   MD12002
EAN:  5902186333055

The MODIG RS485 to Ethernet DIN Rail Converter is a multi-functional and user-friendly gateway that bridges the RS485 bus with an Ethernet network interface. The converter is designed for installation on a standard 35 mm DIN rail. Thanks to its compact design, the device is only 35 mm wide, allowing it to be installed even in small distribution cabinets. An additional USB interface simplifies operation and configuration.

Applications

The MODIG RS485 to Ethernet DIN Rail Converter enables bidirectional data transmission between an RS485 interface and an Ethernet network. Communication can be established either between multiple MODIG RS485-ETHERNET DIN devices or by interfacing with other hardware that supports TCP and/or UDP protocols.

RS485 data frames are encapsulated and converted into Ethernet TCP/UDP packets. For large data frames (exceeding 1.5 kB, up to a maximum of 4 kB), an automated fragmentation mechanism splits the payload into smaller frames. At the destination device, the original RS485 data frames are reconstructed seamlessly, ensuring completely transparent transmission.
