Applications
The MODIG RS485-ETHERNET PoE Converter enables bidirectional data transmission between an RS485 interface and an Ethernet network. Communication can be established between two MODIG RS485-ETHERNET PoE devices or by integrating other third-party equipment that supports TCP and/or UDP protocols. The built-in Power over Ethernet (PoE) system significantly simplifies installation within modern network infrastructures.
RS485 data frames are seamlessly converted into Ethernet TCP/UDP packets. For large data payloads (exceeding 1.5 kB, up to a maximum of 4 kB), an automated fragmentation mechanism splits the data into smaller frame sizes. At the destination device, the original RS485 data frames are reconstructed, ensuring completely transparent data transmission.
